Hi! My name is Silvia. I’m based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Ex-marketing manager converted into full-time wellness enthusiast. I consider myself as forever a student of yoga, sometimes a teacher. I’m into yoga, spirituality, health & wellbeing, reading, learning and running.
How I came to yoga
I’ve been practicing yoga since 2005 while I was still working in corporations, and found yoga helped me to stay healthy and productive. I started joining workshops from various teachers and lineages, and in 2012 I enrolled to the Yogic Study program from Satyananda Yoga Australia – Bihar School of Yoga, and awarded Diploma of Yoga in January 2014. I started teaching yoga part time since then.
I took another 200-hour teacher training from Fitness First Flow Yoga in July – October 2014. I decided to commit more time to teaching yoga since January 2015, let go my office job and teach yoga full time. I took a 300-hour Level 2 Teacher Training Course with Byron Yoga Center in November 2015 that qualifies me as RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) 500. After 4 years and more than 2000 teaching hours, I’m now an E-RYT 500 (the E means Experienced).
What I offer
In 2017 I co-found Harmony Yoga School, an RYS (Registered Yoga School) 200, a medium to share the wisdom of yoga in a comprehensive way. We believe that yoga is not only on the mat, but also outside the mat, in our daily life. We offer Harmony Yoga School Trainings based on this understanding.
I also do consulting work for wellness-related projects. Previously I worked in marketing department of several companies in different industries, including education, telecommunication, retail and publishing. My 10+ years of marketing & brand management practices and my passion in health & wellness enable me to provide relevant solutions and services to the wellness sphere.
I love working with people who shares the same passion and vision. If you think any of my skills and background can be of use to you or your projects, let’s talk!
I’ve been writing blogs on and off since 2001 (here’s an entry about my first blog, and also a timeline of blogs). Back in that day I have my own domain sisil.net, that I eventually failed to maintain, neglected, and lost (now the 5-long character domain values a lot more).
Along the way I was inspired to write again and have sisil.wordpress.com as outlet for writing. In 2015, after meeting my spiritual teacher Om Swami, I was inspired to write more and that I was quite prolific then. I purchased the domain silviahendarta.com around 2016 and migrate the blog to the new website. By that time I lost my writing habit and other things took more priority in my life.
I also have another collaborative blog (currently inactive) wannabezen.com – where me & my friend Christine writes about “being here now & remembering our true nature”.
Sometimes in 2018 this website was hacked, and I did not have any backup (my own fault). I had to reset everything and here we are now. I will be importing my old blog posts and writing new posts here.
My gratitude to the many teachers I encountered in my journey, I’m blessed to have their presence in my life. Thousands pranams to Om Swami, who held up his light and helped me find my inner light.
Have a great day!
